Rufford Old Hall		 Historic houses including Rufford Old Hall, Houghton Tower, Salmesbury Hall, Astley Hall, are all within a short drive/ride.
Exploring
Pendle Hill		 Pendle Hill (of Pendle Witches fame), Lytham St Annes, the West Penine Moors, Rivington Pike, Darwen Tower, provide a variety of activities. Southport
Southport Sands		 Southport - for a breath of sea air, take a trip to Southport. With many miles of beaches, good shopping, plus entertainment, and events including the famous Air Show, Southport has a lot to offer for a day out.
Manchester, Liverpool
Royal Liver Building, Liverpool		 Manchester (approx 30 miles), Liverpool (approx 40 miles), Preston, Southport and Chorley are within easy travelling distance. Euxton station has direct trains to Preston, Blackpool, Wigan and Liverpool and is less than 2 miles away. The M6 and M61 are also within easy reach.
Bird-watching
Ribble Coast and Wetlands		 Martin Mere, just over 12 miles away, is run by the Wildfowl and Wetlands Trust, is home to over 100 species of rare and endangered ducks, geese, swans, flamingos and beavers, and often hosts other events. Another key bird watching area is the Ribble Valley Estuary especially during the winter months.
